Proof that Holocaust Did Happen – Auschwitz (2)

It is a well-established historical fact that the SS destroyed most of the documents that contain incriminating information about what was going on inside Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Fortunately for genuine historians (and unfortunately for Holocaust deniers), the perpetrators failed to destroy important documents related to key facilities in these camps. Important and valuable because these documents contain “criminal traces” (i.e. evidence of major crimes committed in Auschwitz-Birkenau).

These documents are presented (and analyzed in sufficient detail) in an excellent book “Auschwitz: Technique and Operation of the Gas Chambers” by Jean-Claude Pressac. As my work is about much more than just the Auschwitz-Birkenau gas chambers, I will provide only the summary of his findings.

In a nutshell, these “slips” by the authors of these documents (as Jean-Claude Pressac calls these “criminal traces”) prove beyond the reasonable doubt that crematoria in Auschwitz-Birkenau were converted from their original benign function (cremation of bodies of inmates who have died from natural causes) into mass murder systems (“conveyors of death”).

More specifically, by adding to initial industrial-size cremation facilities gas chambers (camouflaged as shower rooms) and undressing rooms (cellars, to be more precise as both were underground structures).

These documents – various items of correspondence between administration of death camps and civilian contractors and other official SS documents, form a convincing body of circumstantial evidence (i.e. are capable of convincing then impartial jury to come up with a “guilty” verdict in a murder trial).

This evidence clearly indicates the presence in the four Birkenau Krematorien (II, III, IV and V) of gas chambers where a prussic acid disinfestation agent sold under the name of “Zyklon-B” was used.

True, none of these documents states “in black and white” that any one of these gas chambers was used for homicidal purposes, but both logic and common sense dictate (scream actually) that mass murder of human beings could have been its only possible function.

The first document is an inventory of equipment installed in Krema (Krematorium) III – an important component in the official set of documents prepared for the official transfer of the Krema III building to the camp administration.

This inventory indicates that the equipment installed in Leichenkeller 1 (morgue 1) included one “gasdichte Tür” (one gas-tight door) and fourteen Brausen (14 showers).

Actually, fourteen dummy showers (in reality, just showerheads), because detailed blueprints of the installation clearly demonstrate that none of these showerheads was connected to a water pipe.

The latter statement (that the showers were fake) is further confirmed by a very simple calculation. The average area covered by a shower head is slightly less than two square meters  – according to the blueprints for the two shower installations at the Stammlager (POW camp), and for three at Birkenau.

Consequently, Leichenkeller 1 of Krematorium III, with a floor area of 210m2, should have had 115 shower heads, not fourteen that were FITTED, because seven wooden bases to which similar shower heads were fitted are still visible in the ruins of the ceiling of L-keller 1 of Krema II (a “mirror image” of the same facility in Krema III).

This very much tangible evidence can lead to one and only one conclusion – that Leichenkeller 1 of Krematorium III (and thus by extension of any other crematorium in the camp) could be only one thing – a homicidal gas chamber disguised as the shower facility.

Cut and dry, plain and simple, loud and clear. Actually, in another camp document (dated January 29th, 1943), L-keller 1 was openly named Vergasungskeller (gassing cellar)…

This document was actually a letter (progress report on construction of Krema II) sent by SS-Hauptsturmführer Karl Bischoff, then the chief of the Bauleitung (Auschwitz Waffen SS and Police Central Construction Office) to SS-Gruppenführer Hans Kammler (then in charge of design and construction of all concentration and extermination camps in Nazi-controlled territory in SS-WVHA – SS Main Economic and Administrative Main Office).  

The progress report enclosed with the letter makes it possible. through a process of elimination (based on facts, logic and common sense), to establish that Bischoff uses Vergasungskeller to designate the “Leichenkeller 1” (“morgue 1”) of Krematorium II in Birkenau.

You think it can not get clearer than that? Think again. Because the same document explicitly states that the facility in question (L-Keller 1) contained… the devices for introducing Zyklon-B into the chamber in question.

More specifically, four Drahtnetzeinschiebvorrichtung (wire mesh insertion devices), each equipped with a Holzblend (gas-tight wooden cover). These devices were, indeed, installed – which was confirmed by the aerial photos taken by the American reconnaissance planes on August 24th, 1944.

At the time, Zyklon-B (a widely used insecticide based on hydrogen cyanide – HCN or prussic acid) was stored and used in the form of small pellets of calcium sulphate, an inexpensive industrial absorbent (in this case, an absorbant substrate for prussic acid).  

Consequently, it is obvious that the abovementioned wire mesh column with a cover could serve only for pouring the pellets of HCN into the chamber in question. The mesh retained the solid pellets and allowed the gas to diffuse – killing every living being inside in minutes.

This mesh was described in perfect detail by former camp prisoners who were employed in the SS-owned and operated DAW (Deutsche Ausrüstungswerke – German Equipment Works) metalworking shop … and made these murder weapons (for all practical purposes).

Proof that Holocaust Did Happen – Auschwitz (1)

Now let’s talk about “battleship Auschwitz” as David Irving (IMHO, the #1 Holocaust denier) called it. He came up with now in famous “battle cry” of Holocaust revisionists: “Sink the Battleship Auschwitz!“.

The idea behind this battle cry is as simple as it is fundamentally flawed: if Holocaust deniers could prove that (1) there were no homicidal gas chambers in Auschwitz; and (2) neither this camp nor its “sibling camp” Birkenau was an extermination camp but only a slave labor camp, the whole “orthodox” (“mainstream”, “official”) narrative of the Holocaust will sink like, well, a torpedoed battleship.

Unfortunately for David Irving (originally a highly competent historian who for some reason decided to transform himself into an anti-Semitic propaganda worker) and his “Kampfgenossen” (i.e. other Holocaust deniers), there is plenty of very much tangible evidence that proves beyond the reasonable doubt that (1) Auschwitz-Birkenau WAS an extermination camp – in addition to being a slave labor super-camp; and (2) it was designed and built for mass murder of thousands of Jews at a time in homicidal gas chambers.

And here is the evidence (that ruthlessly thinks not “battleship Auschwitz”, but he pathetic “warships” of Holocaust deniers). Let’s start with physical evidence that the “Holocaust revisionists” claim to worship.

First, the incineration capacity installed in Auschwitz was so enormous – five crematoria (each with several multi-muffle furnaces) plus open-pit cremation facilities (modeled no doubt after the ones in Operation Reinhard death camps – Sobibor, Treblinka and Belzec) that it could be used for but one purpose.

Cremating the bodies of tens of thousands (and ultimately millions) of bodies of Jews murdered inside the camp. This purpose becomes especially evident after the camp administration implemented ruthless sanitary measures that drastically reduced the number of victims of typhoid and other infectious diseases. Thus all but eliminating the risks of a murderous epidemic inside the camp.

And this capacity was immediately utilized – in the summer of 1944 when the SS almost openly exterminated hundreds of thousands of Hungarian Jews. Between 15 May and 9 July 1944, over 435,000 Jews were “evacuated” from Hungary – mostly to Auschwitz, where at least 80% were gassed on arrival.

The whole project was sufficiently well-documented to leave no doubt that hundreds of thousands of Jews had indeed been murdered in homicidal gas chambers and their bodies burned either in crematoria or in open cremation pits.

It appears that Himmler wanted to use these Jews as hostages in peace negotiations with the Allies, but the latter would have none of it (no surprise here as neither Stalin nor the Western Allies cared a rat’s ass about the Jews – ever). With devastating results for the Jewish population of Hungary.

Right before the “evacuation” of Hungarian Jews began (it was also called “resettlement” by the Nazis), the Allies received the Vrba–Wetzler report. It was dictated in April of 1944 by two Auschwitz escapees, Rudolf Vrba and Alfred Wetzler. The report confirmed intelligence information (received by the British from the Polish Resistance) about the mass murder of Jews in Auschwitz-Birkenau.

There are several other reports about the mass murder of Jews in Auschwitz (collectively referred to as Auschwitz Protocols) – the Rosin-Mordowicz report, the “Polish Major’s report” and other reports.

Linguistic and factual analysis of these reports leave no doubt about their authenticity; in addition, the contents of these reports has been subsequently confirmed by testimonies of thousands of survivors.

As well as by testimonies of the defendants and witnesses in post-war “Auschwitz trials” of Nazi war criminals (trial of camp commander Rudolf Höss in Krakow, the 1947 trial of 41 of his colleagues/subordinates and a series of trials of camp staff members in Frankfurt in 1963-65).

Some Proof that Holocaust Did Happen

First and foremost, there are testimonies, affidavits and depositions – by victims, witnesses and perpetrators – at numerous Holocaust-related trials (unfortunately, there was no “Holocaust Trial”).

More specifically, at the Einsatzgruppen trial (in 1947 in the American-occupied Nuremberg), the “Death Camps Trials” (Auschwitz, Treblinka, Belzec, Sobibor, Chelmno) in early 1960s in West Germany and the trials of individual war criminals (the most famous being obviously the Eichmann trial in Jerusalem in 1961).

Unlike at the “main” Nuremberg trial of Third Reich leaders in 1945-46 (which was a political endeavor, not legal), the prosecutors and judges at these trials went to great lengths to ensure that the proceedings meet the highest standards of criminal justice.

Consequently, there is no doubt whatsoever that the defendants (the perpetrators), the victims and the witnesses told the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. And this truth does fully and completely confirm the facts about The Holocaust listed above.

Second, there are numerous Nazi documents related to the design and construction of gas chambers (see for example an excellent work by Jean-Claude Pressac on Auschwitz gas chambers), deportations to death camps (Höffle Telegram, Korherr Report, etc.), the affidavit by Kurt Gerstein (on gassing of Jews in Belzec death camps), August Frank memorandum, etc. that prove beyond the reasonable doubt the existence and operation of death camps, gas chambers and gas vans.

Third, the documents and testimonies on the layout and structure of Chelmno, Sobibor, Treblinka and Belzec camps prove beyond the reasonable doubt that these facilities could be only death/extermination camps – and nothing else. Besides, the abovementioned Nazi documents (as well as many others) demonstrate – again beyond the reasonable doubt – that the “ticket” to any of these places was strictly one way.

In other words, while hundreds of thousands of Jews went in, just about no one got out (with the exception of a very small number of Jews transferred to slave labor camps).

Fourth, all commandants and key staff of the abovementioned camps came from the Aktion T4 euthanasia program. In other words, they all had extensive experience in mass murder of human beings (ultimately the project claimed over 70,000 lives in two years)… in stationary gas chambers. Which makes sense only if these camps were death camps where victims (i.e. Jews in this case) were to be murdered in gas chambers (using carbon monoxide).

Fifth, the Yad Vashem memorial (the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem) initiated and operates “The Central Database of Shoah Victims’ Names” project.

This project has a highly ambitious (and IMHO unrealistic) objective – to compile a complete list of all victims of The Holocaust. Identifying every victim by name and putting an end to the debate about the total number of victims of the Shoah.

Being aware of the vicious efforts of all sorts of “Holocaust deniers”, the staff of this project makes sure that their efforts adhere to the highest professional standards of historic research and search for missing persons. Consequently, although their database is not exactly perfectly accurate (to put it mildly), it still contains sufficient information to prove the statements listed above beyond the reasonable doubt.

Sixth, the minutes of the Wannsee conference prove (again beyond the reasonable doubt) that one of the ways to implement the “Final Solution to the Jewish Question” is so-called “extermination through labor” (in other words, literally work the able-bodied Jews to death).

These minutes also quite openly state that those Jews who survive, will be murdered so as not to create the core of “Jewish resistance”. Another proof that the Wannsee Conference was about extermination of Jews is who was present at the conference (SS Major Rudolf Lange). And who were not (Wehrmacht generals).

In November 1941 (roughly two months before the Wannsee Conference) Lange was responsible for planning and carrying out the murder of 24,000 Latvian Jews from the Riga ghetto which occurred on 30 November and 8 December 1941.

This monstrous crime has come to be known as the Rumbula massacre and became the biggest two-day Holocaust atrocity until the operation of the death camps. And though Wehrmacht generals generally supported murderous activities of Einsatzgruppen (including killing the Jews which the German military brass viewed as horrible but necessary component of “pacification” of occupied territories), a wholesale murder of ALL European Jews was a different matter entirely. Worthy of a military coup even.

Contrary to a (very) popular misconception, nothing that Adolf Hitler ever said proves beyond the reasonable doubt that he gave the order to murder all Jews of Europe. His commonly quoted statements on this issue can be easily dismissed as “all bark, no bite” (which is very common among charismatic dictators).

SS-Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler was a different character entirely. He was not a politician – he was a leader of an extremely powerful (almost omnipotent) police, security and paramilitary force in the Third Reich. Consequently, his statements carried a much more serious weight – as he meant what he said, walked what he talked and practiced what he preached.

In his now (in)famous Posen speech on October 4th, 1943 (at the end of Operation Reinhard) to about 100 SS generals, Himmler explicitly acknowledged the genocide of the Jews:

“I am now referring to the evacuation of the Jews, the extermination of the Jewish people… Most of you here know what it means when 100 corpses lie next to each other, when there are 500 or when there are 1,000. To have endured this and at the same time to have remained a decent person… has made us tough, and is a glorious chapter that has not and will not be spoken of…”

Did The Holocaust Really Happen?

There is nothing wrong with this question per se as it is completely natural (prior to investigating a crime – especially such a serious one as genocide) to prove beyond the reasonable doubt that the crime in question really happen.

Probably the most fundamental deficiency of all “mainstream” (“orthodox”) books on The Holocaust is that none of their authors bothers to prove beyond the reasonable doubt that this monstrous crime has, indeed, been committed.

Immediately (right then and there) creating an opportunity for so-called “Holocaust deniers” to preach their “anti-Semitic sermon” (i.e. engaging in blatant Judeophobic and neo-Nazi propaganda). By claiming either that the magnitude of crime was nowhere near the one declared by the “orthodox” historians… or that n crime had been committed at all.

Which is a great same because in reality it is quite easy to prove beyond the reasonable doubt that The Holocaust did happen – and happened exactly the way the “mainstream” (“orthodox”) historians say it happened.

All they need to do is to demand that their opponents (i.e. “Holocaust deniers”) approach the issue in a professional way – as historians-detectives (or detective-historians). They are investigating a crime, after all.

A competent homicide detective (1) collects ALL information/knowledge related to the murder case in question; (2) carefully organizes/structures this information; (3) diligently and objectively studies it; and (4) delivers his or her verdict – whether the crime was, indeed, committed and who were the murderers.

In the case of The Holocaust the relevant information/knowledge is everything related to Nazi policies (i.e. practical decisions and actions) towards the Jews. Including physical evidence, documents, testimonies of witnesses, alleged victims and alleged perpetrators…in short, everything.

There are only two “ex ante” hypotheses on the Holocaust issue – either it did happen as the “orthodox” historians claim or it did not. In the latter case the whole thing is just one enormous, colossal, mammoth, gargantuan fabrication planned and executed by some individuals and organizations.

After carefully studying this “body of evidence” (“convergence”, “totality” and even “synergy” of evidence actually) any objective, impartial, honest and diligent scholar (and detective) will inevitably conclude that it fits only one “ex ante” hypothesis – that The Holocaust did happen and happened exactly the way the “mainstream” historians claim.

More specifically, that:

  1. The number of Holocaust victims was within the range between 5 to 6 million (my estimate is on the lower side)
  2. The Nazi leaders (more specifically, Adolf Hitler, Heinrich Himmler and Hermann Göring aided and abetted by Reinhard Heydrich – the true Architect of the Holocaust) sometime in late summer – early fall of 1941 made the decision to physically exterminate all Jews of Europe (all 11 million of them) and assigned this murderous project to the SS
  3. The SS and RSHA leaders (i.e. Himmler and Heydrich) ordered the Einsatzgruppen operating on the Nazi-occupied territories of the Soviet Union to murder by shooting ultimately all Jews in the “responsibility areas” of the EG in question (ultimately about 1.3 million Jews were murdered)
  4. The SS created the “extermination infrastructure” by building four dedicated death camps (Chelmno, Belzec, Treblinka and Sobibor) and equipping two labor camps (Auschwitz-Birkenau and Majdanek) with extermination facilities (gas chambers) and crematoria and used it to murder about 2.5 million Jews from all over Europe (by gassing, shooting, working to death, etc.)
  5. Hundreds of thousands of Jews were murdered by Nazi collaborators in occupied territories (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, etc.), puppet regimes (i.e. Croatia) and by Nazi allies (i.e. Romania)

Now let’s provide sufficient incontrovertible proof of “all of the above”

Why Does the World Need another Holocaust Book

Thousands and thousands of books on The Holocaust have been printed and published (and self-published) – on paper and (especially) electronically. Why then the world does need (and it does need) another book on this definitely the most extensively studied and researched genocide in human history?

For two reasons primarily. First, despite the availability of all these books (some of which are really excellent), we still do not know exactly why the Nazis did what they did and when they did it. In other words, why exactly did they commit this in many aspects the most horrible genocide in human history during that very specific time period (1941-45)?

Second, none of (at least more or less well-known books on The Holocaust) are written from the correct perspective – with disastrous consequences (i.e. proliferation of the “Holocaust denial”).

All “mainstream” books on The Holocaust are written… well, just like all other “mainstream” books on the Third Reich. As anti-Nazi propaganda pieces. Cut and dry, plain and simple, loud and clear.

Not surprisingly, at some point it immediately triggered a backlash – the so-called “Holocaust revisionism”. Which is another kind of propaganda (much, much worse than the “official” one). The neo-Nazi, anti-Semitic, Judeophobic propaganda.

“Mainstream” historians, alas, forget one fundamental truth: The Holocaust was a crime. A monstrous crime, sure – and very probably the worst such crime in human history.

But still a crime. Nothing more, nothing less. Hence, it must be investigated (yes, investigated) as a crime – and, consequently, any book on the Holocaust that pretends to be comprehensive, MUST be written as a true crime book.

And given the proliferation of the “creations” of the so-called “Holocaust revisionists”, it is much better to go beyond the simple “true crime” approach. And write this book as an indictment.

An indictment that proves every statement it makes (including the numbers) beyond the reasonable doubt to objective, impartial and fair “jury of the peers”.
